Abstract
- Integrated upgrading of cardoon stalk biomass has been performed.
- Dissolving grade pulps were produced after selective removal of xylan.
- Sulfur-free organosolv ethanol-alkali technology was applied for fiber isolation.
- Statistical modeling and optimization was done using response surface methodology.
- Fibers having 93.8% α-cellulose and 79.5% CrI were obtained after optimization.
