Abstract
⺠Axial heat flux is concentrated in the transition regions from single-phase to two-phase flow and from two-phase flow to single-phase flow. ⺠Axial heat flux takes heat from the single-phase region and adds is to the two-phase region. ⺠The net effect of longitudinal heat conduction along the pipe is a decrease in the pipe length occupied by two-phase flow and an augmentation in the pipe region occupied by single-phase flow.
