Abstract
► A hybrid support vector machine and fuzzy reasoning based fault diagnosis and rescue system were developed for stable glutamate fermentation. ► The proposed system had a better fault-detection performance than that of neural networks based system. ► The proposed system could classify different biotin initial-content faults and rescue various failure-likelihood glutamate fermentations.
