Abstract
⺠A dielectric composite of transversely isotropic periodic phases is considered. ⺠Four different orientations of the transverse symmetry axis are analyzed. ⺠Simple closed-form expressions for effective permittivity are found in all cases. ⺠Obtained formulas are compared with results from finite element calculations. ⺠It is concluded that formulas are valid beyond the assumed small anisotropy.
