Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to data processing for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors-model parametrization and linear projection (MPLP) method. The method consists of two steps. In the first step, the SPR spectrum is expressed as a parametrized model function and its parameters are determined using the least squares fitting. In the second step, the obtained parameters are linearly projected onto surface and/or bulk refractive index changes. We demonstrate potential of this method on sensor data generated by an SPR affinity biosensor with wavelength interrogation and a conventional prism coupler or a special lightguide supporting two surface plasma waves of different wavelengths.
