Abstract
pH sensors were developed by covalently attaching para-Methyl Red and (4-carboxyphenyl)-Bromophenol Blue onto macroporous glass beads. The beads were integrated into a readily fabricated sensor assembly coupled to a fibre optic spectrometer. The sensor was shown to be durable and had a rapid response time compared to other fibre optic sensor devices and electrochemical pH meters.
