Abstract
Reviewers' ratings of the quality and publishability of articles submitted to the Journal of Economic Psychology over the period 2000-2005 correlated around 0.51-0.63 depending on the measure. These inter-reviewer correlations compare favourably to similar measures taken from other journals and to those obtained from rating facial attractiveness, and are likely to be useful in raising the standard of the articles published. They do not appear high enough to permit confident judgements of the value of individual papers submitted.
