Abstract
⺠The effect of priming network expectations on group identification was examined. ⺠Attachment anxiety was associated with negative network expectations. ⺠Attachment anxiety and group identification were negatively associated under threat. ⺠When primed, only attachment anxiety (not threat) predicted group identification. ⺠Primed participants high in attachment anxiety disidentified with their group.
