Abstract
⺠Higher-order models were tested by controlling the effects of self-esteem. ⺠In contrast with the earlier findings, the importance of self-esteem was clear. ⺠The Big Two model of personality was shown to be supported by the data. ⺠The general factor of personality was not supported by the data.
