Abstract
⺠We examine a sample of urban, low income youth. ⺠We model predictors of depressive styles prospectively. ⺠We examine unsupportive relationships and adverse experiences. ⺠Low support from parents and family violence predict increased self-criticism. ⺠Unsupportive relationships and crime victimization predict increased dependency.
