Abstract
⺠We analyze the effect of the sex in the assessment of physical attractiveness. ⺠Analyses employ a hierarchical technique to explore interviewer effects on ratings. ⺠Male raters are less likely to judge male respondents as attractive or unattractive. ⺠Evolutionary psychology accounts for these differences in ratings.
