Abstract
⺠We examined relationships between optimism and the Big Five personality factors. ⺠Focused on relationships beyond Neuroticism and Extraversion. ⺠We used multiple samples and different measures of optimism and personality. ⺠Optimism was strongly correlated with four Big Five factors (all but Openness). ⺠Agreeableness and Conscientiousness added to the prediction of optimism.
