Abstract
► Fifty one changes of EEG asymmetry were recorded during and after social-emotional stimulation. ► Poor habitual emotion regulation was associated with poor recovery from anxiety. ► Direction of changes during stimulation depended on habitual emotion perception. ► Emotion regulation was not important when stimulated with cheerfulness (laughter). ► Suggests differentiated and process-oriented approaches in the study of trait EI.
