Abstract
⺠Bayesian models are claimed to explain a growing range of cognitive phenomena. ⺠I analyze the assumptions and predictions of a typical model of rule induction. ⺠The model is not plausible nor an ideal observer model and inconsistent with empirical data. ⺠In contrast, simple psychological mechanisms explain rule induction results.
