Abstract
► Bayesian models are claimed to explain a growing range of cognitive phenomena. ► I analyze the assumptions and predictions of a typical model of rule induction. ► The model is not plausible nor an ideal observer model and inconsistent with empirical data. ► In contrast, simple psychological mechanisms explain rule induction results.
