Abstract
⺠A tour d'horizon of 43 liberal/conservative attitude trends in the General Social Survey. ⺠From 1973 to 2008 the trends were overwhelmingly liberal. ⺠Educational upgrading, driven by Cohort replacement, seems to be the major influence. ⺠Stagnant educational growth and less liberal residual Cohort effects are now slowing the process. ⺠All else equal, the famous “generation gap” is predicted to erode.
