Abstract
⺠Occupational status is higher among partnered Dutch gay than straight men/women. ⺠Status gaps disappear once controlled for human capital and family situation. ⺠This study uses the Oaxaca decomposition method to explain the status gap. ⺠Main explanation for status gap is group differences in predictors, notably education. ⺠The status gap is not explained by differences in strength of predictors.
