Abstract
⺠A two-stage approach and bootstrap procedures were used to analyze the impact of CAH Program on hospital efficiency. ⺠We found that CAHs were less cost and allocatively efficient than PPS rural hospitals. ⺠No statistically significant difference in technical efficiency was found between CAHs and PPS rural hospitals.
