Abstract
► Bakun Dam is concrete face, rock filled dam on the Balui River in the Upper Rajang Basin in the rainforests of Sarawak. ► The project faces technical, economic, political, legal and regulatory, social, and environmental barriers. ► We conclude the project will fail to fight energy poverty or improve the livelihoods of local populations.
