Abstract
⺠Increased reliance on ICT has created new challenges in Europe's electricity sector.⺠The European Union has the opportunity to mitigate these.⺠The Union must acts now to prevent a potentially costly technological lock-in.⺠It should designate a coordinator to drive through necessary legislative reforms.⺠The United States would be a good international partner on the issue.
