Abstract
⺠A technical summary of commercially available biogas upgrading technologies is made. ⺠An assessment of energetic, environmental and economic performance is included. ⺠Proposed financial subsidies for biomethane transport fuel are investigated. ⺠Biomethane can be financially competitive with liquid biofuels. ⺠The enhanced environmental performance of biomethane should be reflected by the level of subsidy.
