Abstract
⺠In a general setup we consider large sample approximations to test statistics. ⺠We study the effect of such approximations on test's performance. ⺠Under regularity conditions, asymptotic expansions for power functions are derived. ⺠We discuss and illustrate in examples the essential necessity of these conditions. ⺠An application to invariant testing multivariate normality is presented.
