Abstract
Two new cyano-bridged heteronuclear polymeric complexes, {[Cu(etim)4Ni(μ-CN)2(CN)2]·H2O}n (1) and [Cu(etim)4Pd(μ-CN)2(CN)2]n (2) (etim = 1-ethylimidazole) were synthesized and characterized. They crystallize in the triclinic system and space groups P1¯. The Ni(II) or Pd(II) ion is four coordinate with four cyanide-carbon atoms in a square-planar geometry and the Cu(II) ion exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination by four etim ligands and two bridging cyano groups. The crystal packing of 1 is composed of hydrogen bonding and CâHÂ·Â·Â·Ï interactions.
