Abstract
Two neutral tetradentate Schiff base ligands, N,Nâ²-bis-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylidene)-propane-1,3-diamine (L1) and N,Nâ²-bis-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylidene)-ethane-1,2-diamine (L2) which differ only in the polymethylene chain - (CH2)3 and (CH2)2, respectively, yielded an interesting neutral trigonal prismatic cadmium complex [Cd(L1(NCS)2)] and a distorted octahedral complex [Cd(L2)(NCS)2].
