Abstract
⺠Synthesis, characterization and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies of a series of mononuclear Mn(II) complexes containing N-donor tetradentate Schiff base ligands and terminal thiocyanate anion have been described. Antibacterial activity of the compounds has been studied to find that the compounds possess mild to moderate bactericidal activities. In addition to the synthetic and structural investigations, this study helps in evaluating the potentiality and effectiveness of newer Schiff base complexes of Mn(II) to be used as antibacterial agents.
