Abstract
The water soluble ansa-titanocene [1,2-di(cyclopentadienyl)-1,2-di-(3â²,4â²,5â²-trimethoxyphenyl)-ethanediyl] titanium dichloride is a possible anti-cancer drug and was synthesised starting from 6-(3â²,4â²,5â²-trimethoxyphenyl) fulvene. Herein, we present the synthesis and calculated structures of the fulvene and the titanocene followed by MTT-based cytotoxicity tests on pig kidney carcinoma (LLC-PK) cells.
