Abstract
Mono- and dihydroxamic acids were found to be able to oxidise oxovanadium(IV) at pH â¼Â 5 according to the following equation: 2VO(R1CON(R2)O)2 + R1CON(R2)OH + H2O = 2[VO2(R1CON(R2)O)2]â + 2H+ + R1CON(R2)H (R1: CH3, C6H5; R2: H, CH3)
