Abstract
The distortion of aromatic character and stabilization of imino-form as a result of Npy protonation of 4-aminopyridine was proved by conventional and linear-dichroic IR-spectroscopy, UV- and 1H-NMR-data. The structure of the model system 4-aminopyridinium tetrachloropalladate(II) complex salt is determined by single crystal X-ray study. The crystallographic results are compared with the spectroscopic ones.
