Abstract
Various routes to Cu(II) and Ba fluorocarboxylate derivatives as possible metal organic deposition (MOD) precursors of high Tc superconductors have been investigated. Reactions between copper(II) trifluoroacetate and functional alcohols such as isopropoxyethanol or dimethylaminoethanol afforded a complex Cu2(TFA)4(OHC2H4OiPr)2 or a carboxylatoalkoxide Cu4(μ,η2-TFA)4(μ3,η2-OC2H4NMe2)4, respectively. The reaction between Ba trifluoroacetate and N-methyldiethanolamine (mdeaH2) provided the first example of an ionic Ba TFA derivative
