Abstract
The reactions of tridentate aminobis(phenol)s with [MoO2(acac)2] in methanol lead to the precipitation of monomeric dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes [MoO2(ONOR)(MeOH)] · MeOH. Identical reactions in acetonitrile provide dimeric complexes [Mo2O2(μ-O)2(ONOR)2]. [MoO2(acac)2] reacts with tetradentate diaminobis(phenol)s to yield monomeric complexes of type [MoO2(ONNOR)]. All studied complexes catalyse oxotransfer reactions between DMSO and benzoin or PPh3.
