Abstract
A study of the late-transition metal aryloxide complexes [(Ph3P)2Ni(OArF)2], [(Ph3P)2Ni(OArâ²)2], [(COD)Pt(OArF)2], and [(Ph3P)Au(OArF)] is presented which suggests that substantial fluorination of the phenoxide ring facilitates isolation of monodentate aryloxide complexes, versus reduction at the metal center or oligomerization via bridging phenoxides.
