Abstract
Metal complexes of the general formula [Ru(CO)(B)(L)] (where BÂ =Â PPh3, AsPh3, py (or) pip; LÂ =Â dianion of tetradentate Schiff bases) have been synthesized and characterized. All the complexes exhibit luminescence bands in the visible region. Further, the catalytic activity of complex 1 has been found to be high (up to 99%) towards the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols in the presence of the co-catalyst NMO.
