Abstract
Treatment of [Ru3(CO)10(μ-dppm)] (1) with PPh2H in refluxing heptane afforded four triruthenium compounds, [Ru(CO)6(μ-CO)(μ3-CH2PPh)(μ-PPh2)2] (3), [(μ-H)Ru3(CO)6(μ3-η2-PPh2CH2PPh)(μ-PPh2)2] (4) [(μ-H)2Ru3(CO)5(μ-dppm)(μ3-PPh)(μ-PPh2)2] (5) and [(μ-H)2Ru3(CO)6(μ-dppm)(μ-PPh2)2] (6). Compound 4 can also be prepared in a relatively higher yield from the reaction of [Ru3(CO)9{μ3-η3-PPhCH2P(Ph)(C6H4)}] (7) with PPh2H in refluxing THF. The new compounds were characterized by spectroscopic data along with single crystal X-ray diffraction studies on 4 and 5.
