Abstract
An in-depth study of dinuclear Cd and Pb-cysteamine complexes has been carried out using NMR, IR, mass spectrometry and X-ray crystallography. The intermolecular hydrogen-bonding involving nitrogen, sulfur and counter anion has not been reported for similar dinuclear complexes, except for [Hg(aet)2]Cl2, previously reported by us. The structures described here should contribute to the understanding of fundamental Cd and Pb-thiolate chemistry of simple as well as complex molecules such as metallothioneins.
