Abstract
The X-ray structure of 2-[(3â²-Pyridyl)azo]imidazole (3â²-PyaiH) shows a hydrogen bonded 1D chain. 1-Alkyl-2-[(3â²-pyridyl)azo]imidazole (3â²-PyaiRâ²) gives tetrahedral [Mn(3â²-PyaiRâ²)4](ClO4)2. The structure has been confirmed by an X-ray study in one case. Azido and thiocyanato complexes, [Mn(3â²-PyaiRâ²)2(X)2] (XÂ =Â N3, NCS) are also described.
