Abstract
This paper reviews the coordination chemistry of tripodal tetraamine ligands. The different possible arm lengths and N-donor atom types mean that these ligands display a remarkable diversity in their coordination chemistry with both transition metal ions and lanthanide ions, and they are found in chemical species ranging from simple mononuclear metal complexes to heterometallic polynuclear complexes and polymeric metallosupramolecular arrays. Aspects of such chemistry are detailed in this paper.
