Abstract
Octahedrally coordinated Co(III) and Cu(II) complexes of a novel alcohol and phenol containing polyamine ligand H2L (H2L = N,Nâ²-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-bis[(2-aminoethyl)amino]-2-propanol), [CoL]ClO4 (1) and [Cu(H2L)Cl]ClO4 · CH3OH · H2O (2) were synthesized, spectroscopically and structurally characterized. 1 and 2 are self-assembled into hydrogen-bonded 1D and 2D supramolecular structures, respectively.
