Abstract
► Hollow nanospheres of silica (HNS) were modified with different amine groups. ► Amino-functionalized hollow nanospheres of silica exhibited good catalytic application. ► The capping of silanols with trimethylsilyl groups resulted in a reduction on catalytic activity.
