Abstract
► To our knowledge, this work describes the first detailed report of monolithic pure germanium oxide aerogel. ► The as-synthesized aerogel exhibited remarkable specific surface area, high porosity and high percentage of mesopores. ► The germanium oxide aerogel showed high purity, excellent thermal stability and good crystallinity. ► We proposed a presumption for the condensation process.
