Abstract
⺠Effect of Si and Zr on water penetration and structure at the first time of alteration. ⺠Hydrolysis is the predominant mechanism for glass having a high amount of non-binding oxygen. ⺠Water diffusion coefficients are comprised between 10-21 and 10-19 m².s-1. ⺠Water diffusion coefficients vary as a function of glass composition. ⺠Activation energy of water diffusion is higher than the one of inert gas.
