Abstract
⺠The pH value of solution and the nature of sand surface affect the consolidation mechanism. ⺠The mechanical cohesion and the solubility of materials increase with increasing pH value. ⺠The increase in the pH value leads to more ionic bonds due to the raise of cation content.
