Abstract
⺠The glass forming ability (GFA) of a series of soda lime borate liquids has been studied using the calorimetric method. ⺠GFA decreases when Na2O is substituted for B2O3, implying the network connectivity controls GFA of the studied systems. ⺠There is no direct link between the composition dependence of liquid fragility and that of GFA. ⺠The glass stability (GS) against crystallization can be enhanced by lowering the prior cooling rate of the melt.
