Abstract
► Optical glass component quality is influenced by the surface and subsurface defects. ► The damaged area is characterized by roughness and crack layers. ► We determine the lapping parameters effect on the roughness and the damaged layer. ► Important damage of the glass surface is observed since the first seconds of lapping. ► Increasing of the lapping time increases the damages to reach the removal of material.
