Abstract
⺠The best glass formers are optimized in the Mg-(Cu/Ni)-Nd systems. ⺠In contrast to the Mg57Cu34Nd9 BMG, Mg64Ni21Nd15 BMG manifests higher toughness. ⺠Fracture surface of Mg64Ni21Nd15 during 3PB varies along the crack propagation path. ⺠Correlation between Tg and elastic properties was rationalized with Egami's model.
