Abstract
Graft copolymerization of binary mixture of styrene (Sty), an electron donor monomer, with methyl acrylate (MA), an electron acceptor monomer, onto Tefzel film was studied in aqueous medium by the preirradiation method. Relevant parameters that influence grafting have been studied and optimum conditions with respect to these parameters, leading to maximum percentage of grafting, evaluated. The effect of electron donor monomer, Sty, on percent grafting of acceptor monomer, MA, is discussed. The characterization of the graft copolymers has been done through IR Spectroscopy, swelling behaviour and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
