Abstract
⺠Oblique SH waves in one dimensional periodic piezoelectric crystal are considered. ⺠Band gaps for Bloch-Floquet waves are defined at acoustic and optical frequencies. ⺠Strong piezoelectric coupling has a significant effect on the widths of band gaps. ⺠Band gaps open in identical piezoelectric crystals with opposite polarization. ⺠Piezoelectricity practically does not affect band structure at optical frequencies.
