Abstract
⺠Vascular dementia (VaD) is a significant clinical problem for which there is no treatment. ⺠Pharmaceuticals that prevent strokes or treat Alzheimer's Dementia offer limited benefits for VaD. ⺠Only antihypertensive compounds, if started early, reduce VaD incidence and slow progression. ⺠Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors may improve cognition but have significant side effects.
