Abstract
Schematic model for glucose-stimulated SPP1 expression mediated by histone modifications. High glucose stimulates SPP1 gene expression via histone modification changes which involve increased H3K4me1, H3K4me3 and H3K9ac; as well as decreased H3K27me3 in the promoter region of SPP1. The basal SPP1 expression can be enhanced by inhibition of HDAC; while glucose-stimulated expression of SPP1 can be reversed by inhibition of HMT.115
