Abstract
- LOX-1 is the major receptor for oxidized low-density lipoprotein.
- A new LOX-1 inhibitor, named PLAzPC, has been synthesized.
- The compound has been designed to recognize the LOX-1 hydrophobic tunnel.
- Docking analysis indicates high affinity of PLAzPC toward the receptor tunnel.
- Cell-based binding assays confirm the inhibitory activity of the novel compound.
