Abstract
⺠Manganese (Mn) is required for normal cellular function. ⺠Excessive Mn may cause a disease resembling Parkinson's disease (PD). ⺠Mn and Fe homeostasis is regulated by shared transporters. ⺠SLC30A10 is putatively involved in Mn efflux. ⺠Patients with the SLC30A10 mutation display Parkinsonian-like symptoms.
