Abstract
⺠Osx is conditionally inactivated in cranial neural crest (CNC)-derived cells. ⺠CNC-specific inactivation of Osx resulted in no intramembranous skeletal elements. ⺠Osx inactivated CNC-derived cells lost their osteogenic ability. ⺠Osx is required for craniofacial bone formation by CNC-derived cells.
